Yahoo Archive Decode
Yeah, i hate to be a whiner, but im a Java programmer of 3 years, Trying to read C++ is about like whiping my ass with sandpaper. I have kept my Yahoo Archives from windows installation to windows installation forever, never knowing that i could opening them, or what. So i'v stacked up quite a few. It occured to me a couple days ago to see if anyone else has had the problem, and i found your place with the Source of your yahoo decryption program. I dont know how complex the process is, but could you provide a document descriveing how one would go about decrypting the archive. The reason i want to design my own program is i want to first get everything in plain text, and i want to merge ALL my histories together chronologically. That would just take days of copy pasteing from your program into files, and mabey an hour to make a program that did it for me, again depending on the complexity of how you unarchive them. Anywho. It would be greatly appreciated. Thx. ~Excalibur

Excalibur, the process of decoding yahoo archive is rather simple.
Take a look at the function DecodeArchiveData which basically opens
a yahoo archive .dat file and then converts it into an RTF string. You
can easily write an equivalent java program which convers the file to
plain-text instead of RTF.

skonealone, thanks for the nice words.

Excalibur, I got this message from you:

the forum woulent let me post again, but w/e. I did a find for that "DecodeArchiveData" and it wasnt found in any of your source. Mind you i only have 0.8, dont have 1.0 released.

What error do you get when you try to post? Actually in 0.8 release of source
code the function name is: PopulateTextBoxData in file YArchDecodeView.cpp

My apologies for the mistake.
